{"id":4091,"date":"2022-07-11T12:46:31","date_gmt":"2022-07-11T10:46:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/?p=4091"},"modified":"2025-02-04T17:54:28","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T16:54:28","slug":"castillos-y-fortalezas-de-la-rioja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/de\/rioja\/castillos-y-fortalezas-de-la-rioja\/","title":{"rendered":"22 Festungen und Schl\u00f6sser in La Rioja"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Debido a su posici\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica La Rioja ha sido durante siglos, y seg\u00fan la \u00e9poca, una <strong>regi\u00f3n fronteriza<\/strong> entre los Reinos de Navarra, Castilla, y tambi\u00e9n, de Al-\u00c1ndalus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esto provoc\u00f3 que se construyeran numerosas <strong>fortalezas y castillos en La Rioja<\/strong> con fines militares que ayudasen a cada bando a defender su territorio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como consecuencia, hoy en pleno siglo XXI, todav\u00eda podemos contemplar una buena parte de este <strong>patrimonio hist\u00f3rico<\/strong>. Ya que pese a que algunos castillos est\u00e9n hoy completamente desaparecidos como es el caso del castillo de Cellorigo, otros se mantienen perfectamente restaurados como es el caso de los castillos de Cuzcurrita de R\u00edo Tir\u00f3n, Sajazarra o Agoncillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, encontrar\u00e1s un <strong>listado<\/strong> de los castillos en La Rioja ordenado alfab\u00e9ticamente por nombre de la localidad en que se encuentran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#1 Castillo de Aguas Mansas en Agoncillo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00775.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00775-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"Castillo de agoncillo aguas mansas\" class=\"wp-image-3428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00775-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00775-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00775-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00775-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00775.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>Castillo de Aguas Mansas<\/strong> fue construido durante los&nbsp;siglos XIII&nbsp;y&nbsp;XIV. Tiene una planta rectangular con <strong>torres cuadradas en sus cuatro esquinas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El escudo de la&nbsp;<strong>Cruz de Calatrava<\/strong>&nbsp;aparece en la portada situada en su fachada oriental, como signo de pertenencia a la Casa de los Medrano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la actualidad ha sido acondicionado para albergar las <strong>dependencias municipales<\/strong> de Agoncillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#2 Castillo de Arnedo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06286.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"666\" importante de la zona<\/strong> durante la edad media pasando de manos musulmanas a manos cristianas en varias ocasiones hasta que en el siglo XI fue conquistado definitivamente por los cristianos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En los a\u00f1os 2016 y 2018 se llev\u00f3 a cabo una restauraci\u00f3n que permiti\u00f3 volver a abrirlo al p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En torno al castillo existe una <strong>bonita zona de paseo y un mirador con vistas a Arnedo. <\/strong>Sin embargo, el castillo se mantiene cerrado pudiendo visitarse s\u00f3lo bajo reserva.<\/p>\n\n\n<div de Arnedillo se data en el <strong>siglo X<\/strong> desde donde se vigilaba el paso entre el alto valle del r\u00edo Cidacos y Arnedo, ya que junto al rio se encuentra <strong>un puente de un solo ojo por donde discurr\u00eda el camino entre Yanguas y Arnedo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Construido en sillarejo y mamposter\u00eda, <strong>se conserva una torre de planta cuadrada<\/strong>, una muralla que la une con las rocas del monte y el comienzo de otro muro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#4 Castillo de Autol (ruinas)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery Briones<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>La antigua <strong>fortaleza de Briones<\/strong> cuya configuraci\u00f3n urbana naci\u00f3 del propio <strong>car\u00e1cter defensivo<\/strong> que a lo largo de la historia tuvo este privilegiado lugar, <strong>frontera entre Castilla y Navarra.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sabemos que <strong>en 1240 el castillo de Briones y otros varios<\/strong> que ten\u00eda D. Diego L\u00f3pez de Haro, <strong>fueron derribados por Fernando III.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El recinto del castillo se completaba con el del casco urbano mediante <strong>murallas<\/strong> en las que se abr\u00edan <strong>6&nbsp;puertas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La construcci\u00f3n se extiende de noreste a suroeste siguiendo un <strong>trazado trapezoidal alargado<\/strong>. Ubicado en las <strong>paredes de un barranco<\/strong> que penetra en la Sierra de Moncalvillo. Sin duda, un lugar \u00fanico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>planta del castillo es irregular<\/strong> y se acomoda al trazado de la roca y a las covachas naturales existentes que cierran sus muros. En la actualidad, es imposible saber la distribuci\u00f3n interior del conjunto, ya que no existen paredes divisorias excepto un breve muro en el primer recinto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Construido en <strong>manposter\u00eda<\/strong> se utiliz\u00f3 piedra caliza porosa y cantos de r\u00edo. Constaba de tres plantas, hoy perdidas, a juzgar por las ventanas existentes. El torre\u00f3n ten\u00eda una puerta de acceso al segundo piso que se comunica al exterior con las viviendas rupestres aleda\u00f1as y otra probable que daba al interior del fort\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para acceder debes <strong>aparcar al otro lado de la carretera y cruzar con mucho cuidado<\/strong>. Cuenta con una gran&nbsp;<strong>torre del homenaje<\/strong>&nbsp;rectangular con patio interior con aljibe y paso angosto acodillado y escalera que lo pone en contacto con el exterior y por otro lado, un amplio patio con torre\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tiene tres posibles&nbsp;<strong>accesos<\/strong>: desde la calle Juan Jim\u00e9nez; la calle Balija o por el Barranco del Toyo.<\/p>\n\n\n<div Se trata de un castillo de estilo&nbsp;rom\u00e1nico, ubicado sobre un cerro que domina el valle del&nbsp;r\u00edo Ebro. A sus pies se encuentra la <strong>ermita de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de Davalillo,<\/strong> que debi\u00f3 ser la iglesia del desaparecido poblado de&nbsp;Davalillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El castillo cuenta con un&nbsp;<strong>recinto&nbsp;exterior amurallado<\/strong> y una&nbsp;<strong>torre del homenaje<\/strong>, de planta poligonal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El castillo aparece documentado por primera vez cuando Enrique de&nbsp;<strong>Trast\u00e1mara<\/strong>&nbsp;en 1367 lo entrega a Carlos El Malo de Navarra. Se\u00f1or\u00edo de los Manrique, duques de N\u00e1jera; causa de enfrentamiento con los Velasco, condestables de Castilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La&nbsp;<strong>romer\u00eda de la Virgen de Davalillo<\/strong>&nbsp;es una celebraci\u00f3n tradicional en la que tambi\u00e9n se sube al castillo con la participaci\u00f3n de todo el pueblo de San Asensio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su estado hace que se pueda <strong>visitar de forma libre<\/strong> cualquier d\u00eda del a\u00f1o, aunque el interior est\u00e1 cerrado por seguridad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 2019 el castillo fue adquirido por una importante de Herce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De nuevo nos encontramos con otra fortaleza de la que apenas se conservan algunas <strong>ruinas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Castillo de Herce se nombra en un documento del <strong>a\u00f1o 1200<\/strong> y formaba parte de la misma l\u00ednea defensiva que otros castillos de la zona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#14 Castillo de Centro de Interpretaci\u00f3n de los Castillos de La Rioja<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a hoy hubo una fortaleza que se hundi\u00f3 <strong>hacia 1478.<\/strong> A\u00f1o en el cual comienza la construcci\u00f3n del castillo actual que dur\u00f3 20 a\u00f1os. Cuenta con <strong>4 torres octogonales<\/strong> y una superficie de 1.110m\u00b2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lo largo de su historia ha tenido distintos usos y propietarios. En la actualidad pertenece al <strong>Gobierno de La Rioja <\/strong>que ha anunciado la creaci\u00f3n en este castillo del <strong>Centro de Interpretaci\u00f3n de los Castillos de La Rioja,<\/strong> con casi 3 millones de euros de inversi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#16 Torre Fuerte de Muro de Aguas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06219.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06219-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6003\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06219-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06219-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06219-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06219-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06219.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A lo alto de <strong>Muro de Aguas<\/strong> se encuentran las ruinas de <strong>su torre fuerte <\/strong>a las que hay que acceder a pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e1s interesante que las escasas ruinas que quedan del castillo son <strong>las ruinas de la antigua iglesia de Santa Mar\u00eda, <\/strong>las cuales se encuentran en plena subida al castillo, mejor conservadas y con una panor\u00e1mica de Muro de Aguas completa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#17 Castillo de Prejano<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El Castillo de Prejano consta de un recinto rectangular y una <strong>espectacular torre pentagonal de 15<\/strong> <strong>metros<\/strong> de altura que data del siglo XV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El recinto fortificado fue utilizado como cementerio hasta hace unos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#18 Castillo de Quel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06290.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06290-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Castillo de Quel\" class=\"wp-image-5999\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06290-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06290-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06290-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06290-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/dsc06290.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El Castillo de Quel se construy\u00f3 en el <strong>a\u00f1o 1470<\/strong> sobre un cerro de unos 100 metros de altura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El castillo se compone de <strong>una torre principal<\/strong> y de <strong>una muralla<\/strong> que puedes recorrer por tu cuenta gracias a la reconstrucci\u00f3n que tuvo lugar en el a\u00f1o 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junto al castillo se encuentra la imagen de una Virgen, y todo el conjunto ofrece una bonita <strong>vista panor\u00e1mica del pueblo de Quel.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puedes acceder en coche hasta el propio castillo por un camino de grava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#19 Castillo de Sajazarra<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00289.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00289-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Castillo de Sajazarra\" class=\"wp-image-1406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00289-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00289-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00289-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lariojapremium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/dsc00289.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En el <strong>siglo XV<\/strong> exist\u00eda en Sajazarra una primitiva torre que fue destruida para <strong>construir el castillo<\/strong> que un siglo despu\u00e9s, sigui\u00f3 sufriendo remodelaciones y cambios hasta convertirse en la imponente construcci\u00f3n que podemos ver hoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su historia est\u00e1 unida a la de Haro que, en 1430, pas\u00f3 a manos castellanas. Su propietario, Pedro Fern\u00e1ndez de Velasco, pose\u00eda, adem\u00e1s, otros castillos como el de Cerezo, el de Ojacastro y el de Arnedo. Perteneci\u00f3 a los condes de Nieva y <strong>defend\u00eda la zona norte de la poblaci\u00f3n y el camino de Haro a Miranda.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>torre del homenaje<\/strong> se eleva por encima del resto de la construcci\u00f3n. Se encuentra en el centro de la fortaleza, su planta es rectangular y posee en sus \u00e1ngulos cuatro garitones de forma octogonal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>entrada<\/strong> se encuentra enmarcada por <strong>dos cubos<\/strong> que sirven de ayuda para su defensa. Parece que la fortaleza tuvo un foso que hoy se encuentra tapado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como todos estos edificios, el material utilizado para su construcci\u00f3n fue la piedra. Frente a \u00e9l y al otro lado del r\u00edo Ebro se encuentra el castillo de Davalillo, el cual pertenec\u00eda al Reino de Castilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se trata de una <strong>construcci\u00f3n militar<\/strong> que se lleg\u00f3 a usar hasta el fin de las guerras Carlistas en 1876.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas ha contado con numerosas El acceso entre los distintos pisos se realiza por medio de una&nbsp;<strong>escalera<\/strong>&nbsp;peque\u00f1a de madera que lleva desde el piso noble al primero y, por una escalera de mano, para los dem\u00e1s pisos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las primeras noticias de esta fortaleza datan de&nbsp;<strong>1096<\/strong>. A finales del XIII se nombra a Hern\u00e1n L\u00f3pez de Est\u00fa\u00f1iga como Se\u00f1or de Montalbo. En 1434, Diego de Z\u00fa\u00f1iga, obispo de Calahorra y La Calzada funda un mayorazgo con todas sus posesiones entre las que se encontraba Montalbo, a favor de su sobrino \u00cd\u00f1igo de Z\u00fa\u00f1iga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este lugar era&nbsp;<strong>estrat\u00e9gico<\/strong>&nbsp;y adem\u00e1s supon\u00eda controlar el cruce del Ebro as\u00ed como una especie de frontera entre Burgos y Logro\u00f1o. A finales del XVIII, gracias al matrimonio entre Magdalena Arista de Z\u00fa\u00f1iga y su t\u00edo, Francisco Manso de Z\u00fa\u00f1iga, conde de Herv\u00edas; se a\u00f1adi\u00f3 este \u00faltimo t\u00edtulo a los herederos de Montalvo.
