The building in which the Casa Antonia flats are located has a very long trajectoryThe origins of the village can be traced back to the origins of the village in the 14th century.
It was located at the end of Calle Real, now Calle San Sebastián, mastering and supervising the river crossing Pull.
This building comprised until the middle of the 19th century the city council of the town, schools of both sexes, prison y faithful of weights and measures. Despite the extension of the building carried out in 1839, this building was not to the liking of the technicians who drew up the report, so the Town Hall building was planned for the main square.
In the arcades of this building It was known by the name of "el Mentirón", which could mean "the Liar" or "the Liar": El Mentidero del Tirón.
Your location at the "vado de Cuzcurrita" was strategic as it was the preferred route for the fairgrounds travelling to the fairs of: Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Ezcaray and its valleys, Miranda de Ebro, Vitoria and the surrounding area.
It was also meeting place of the inhabitants of the town, who used to meet to go for a walk in the poplar grove or to the Sorejana hermitage.
Following the relocation of the town hall, this building sold to a private individual and was the seat of a recreational society in the 19th century.
It is in the year 1945 when my grandparents inherited the building and decided to open it as a bar. In the course of the following years it is my mother Antonia which continued with the bar until 2008 when we moved it to the building opposite.
Finally, in the year 2012 we decided rehabilitate the building maintaining part of its architecture and creating an accommodation in Cuzcurrita to accommodate the growing tourism demand of the municipality.
From then on, the Flats Casa AntoniaThe building is emblematic and steeped in history.
