At Valenciso we are experts in the handling of cement depots. All our red wines are fermented and stabilised in concrete tanks.
Rioja Red Reserve
Manual harvesting and processing in cement tankThe wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks, which favours elegance and unctuousness, where it also underwent spontaneous malolactic fermentation in April.
Aged 19 months in barrel after which it returned to the cement tank, where it matured for 12 months, during which time it settled and stabilised, so that clarification with egg white was not required, making it suitable for vegans.

A wine made and aged only in a cement tank. Different and surprising. Lively, tasty, fruity, round, very pleasant and elegant.

Valenciso the union of two surnames
The name VALENCISO comes from the union of our surnames Luis VALENTIN and Carmen ENCISO.
With the enthusiasm and the strength of youth to to undertake the project of our dreams we founded VALENCISO 21 years ago, even though we have been 38 years in the world of wine.
We have been extremely fortunate to have been able to learn from the great French winemaker Jean Gervais, and
with winemakers such as Michel Rolland and Denis Dubourdieu, without doubt among the most prestigious in the world.
Valenciso is a winery in Ollauri, the heart of the Rioja Alta, a small village with a great winemaking tradition in the north of the appellation.
For such a personal project we wanted to be in the Haro regionwhere our families come from. An emotional return that finds in the calcareous-clay soils and the influence of the Atlantic climate our ideal as winemakers.
We cultivate our organic vineyard. Small productions, we produce in cement tank to give more life to the wine, and barrels of French oak which brings elegance to the Atlantic Tempranillo.
Bodegas Valenciso and organic farming
Valenciso is present in more than 40 countries and in restaurants that are distinguished by their wine lists and prestigious wine shops. Vintage after vintage receives high scores in national and international guides.
We pamper the vineyard. In 2017 we began the transition to organic farmingwhich we have been applying in all our vineyards since 2019. Soils 100% clay-limestone soils, between 480 and 610 metres altitude, all in the north of the Rioja Alta.
Always we give priority to wine. It is the key to our success. It is very demanding. We have been able not to release two vintages -2003 and 2013- on the market because they did not meet the necessary conditions.
We are winemakers, vineyard caretakers. Our wines in their elegance keep all the care that we give them, and the life that this land gives them.
Ollauri a charming village 3km from Haro
Ollauri has been the cradle of illustrious men, with noble mansions in ashlar stone that speak of a long winemaking tradition, where old historic cellars from the 16th century, excavated in living rock, coexist with modern ones from the 21st century.
Walking through its streets you will find the Church of San Salvador 18th century with a filmy sundial. As well as mansions and palaces XVII century, such as the Palace of the Marquises of Terán or the Palace of the Count of Rodezno.
Ollauri celebrates every year two wine-related activities: The Wine Week in February and the Grape Harvest Festival in September.
